Physical Wellness
Physical Wellness promotes maintaining a healthy quality of life that allows for an optimal balance of health and mobility. It can result in increased energy and functioning through recreational activities.
Why Physical Wellness is Important?
Practicing this form of wellness helps establish healthy habits to promote proper physical health and functionality. It includes nurturing one’s body by engaging in regular physical activity, healthy eating, adequate rest, and minimizing harmful behaviors.
Physical Wellness requires developing a personal responsibility for one’s own health care, being more self-aware of one’s physical well-being, establishing a regular routine of making healthy choices and getting help when needed.
Examples of Physical Wellness:
- Avoid or reduce activities and/or use of substances that negatively affect the body
- Establish a regular exercise schedule
- Get a massage
- Get enough sleep
- Get regular checkups from a primary care physician
- Hire a personal trainer
- Maintain a healthy, well-balanced diet
- Manage stress
