Staff Recognition Reception

The Staff Recognition Reception is an annual event hosted by the Office of Human Resources to honor the outstanding contributions of University of Arkansas staff members. Held each fall, this event brings together employees, supervisors, and campus leadership to celebrate the dedication, service, and achievements of our staff community.

When and Where

The reception typically takes place in early October. The event is scheduled during the workday to encourage attendance from both honorees and their supervisors. Employees being recognized can also bring a guest. Light refreshments and appetizers are served during a pre-program reception, followed by a formal recognition ceremony with the Chancellor.

What to Expect

The formal recognition ceremony includes:

  • A welcome from the Chancellor.
  • Presentation of the Staff Senate Awards
  • Outstanding Team Award
    • Staff Senate Scholarships
    • Employees of the Quarter
    • Employees of the Year
  • Recognition of staff who completed their degree at the U of A in the preceeding year.
  • Milestone service awards for each 5 years of service.

Employees being recognized can pick up any awards including their recognition certificate during the event. 

Invitations

The Staff Recognition Reception is an invite-only event. Employees being recognized and their supervisors will receive invitations via email with event details and instructions for selecting awards (for those celebrating 20 or more years of service).
