Finance Job Subfamilies
The Finance job family prepares, collects, and interprets financial information, and/or
develops budgets, forecasts and statutory returns. Responsible for various levels
of financial reporting for external and internal utilization not limited to federal,
state and governing body.
Performs accounting transactions and produces regular, accurate and timely financial
reports for internal and external reporting and decision-making purposes. Responsible
for managing or performing work in financial accounting activities, including financial
transaction recording standards, control and reconciliation of accounts and records,
cost accounting, and accounting reports and schedules for both internal and external
audiences.
Analyzes and prepares recommendations for financial plans, including annual resource
allocation, forecasting, and short and long-term financial planning. Conducts ad hoc
financial and/or budget analysis for institutional, college, division, and/or departmental
decision-making purposes.
Operates institution's student accounts receivable. Manages accurate and timely billing
and collection of student receivables, applies financial aid awards to student accounts,
and provides for disbursement and tracking of student loan funds.
Manage payroll operations and services for the university including balancing, calculations,
compliance, processing, records management, reporting, and transactions.
Manages acquisition of goods and services, contracts, request for proposals, reimbursements,
strategic sourcing, eProcurement and travel services.
Responsible for banking relations, invested operating funds, and financial reporting
for cash and investments for the institution.
