Position Posting and Recruitment
The process for creating a posting is as follows:
- Create a position description in PeopleAdmin 7. New positions will be assigned a PSB number to be used on the Hiring Request form. Or modify an existing position description to prepare to create a position
posting.
- Complete and submit a Hiring Request through the approval chain. Hiring request approval from the provost is required for all searches, internal promotions and temporary appointments of one year or less.
- Develop a Recruitment Plan to include diversity recruitment sources.
- Classified and nonclassified positions are automatically posted on:
- University of Arkansas Careers website
- HigherEdJobs.com
- GettingHired.com
- Indeed.com
- Arkansas JobLink
- Diverse Issues in Higher Education
- The Job Guide (classified only)
- Academic Policy 1405.16G on pro-active diverse recruiting requires that departments and campus units identify
at least three additional recruitment activities within their respective discipline
or field that target diverse populations. Utilizing low/no cost activities such as
email Listservs, professional contacts and organizations are recommended.
- Refer to Recruitment Sources on the OEOC website.
- Classified and nonclassified positions are automatically posted on:
- Decide if a search committee will be used in the process.
- Search committees are not required and may be convened at different stages of the process.
- Create posting in PeopleAdmin:
- Create a classified or nonclassified position posting.
- Create a faculty position posting.
- Create an AGRI classified or nonclassfied position posting.
- Add adequate diversity recruitment sources to the Recruitment Plan.
- Send to your approvers and then to HR.
- HR reviews the posting description and assists with the development of supplemental questions to screen for minimum/preferred qualifications.
- HR sends the posting to OEOC for review. The OEOC reviews/approves the posting language as well as the recruitment plan to ensure there is proactive effort to reach and identify potential underrepresented applicants.
- The OEOC posts the position to the PeopleAdmin Careers website.
- Initiate Recruitment Plan advertisements as outlined on the posting. Postings for most faculty positions remain active for at least 30 calendar days. Staff positngsremain active for at least 14 calendar days. Positions that may provide a sponsorship are posted for 30 days.
Applicants apply through PeopleAdmin. PeopleAdmin screens applicants for minimum qualifications based on their answers to the qualifying questions.
Review of applications and evaluation of the match between each applicant's education and experience to the requirements of the position description are also managed in PeopleAdmin prior to interviewing applicants.
