2009 PRELIMINARY POSITION REQUEST
INSTRUCTIONS
The following are the actions you may request:
a)
New - Request for a new title currently unavailable in the proper section of the UAF Appropriation Act.
b)
Additional - Request for additional numbers of existing positions.
c)
Change of Title - Request for a
change in title to an existing position.
d)
Change of Grade – Request for a
change in the grade of an existing position.
e)
Non-Classified to Classified
- Request to move a position from non-classified to classified.
f)
Provisional to Regular -
Request to change an existing provisional position to a
regular position.
Your requests will be done electronically. This can
be accomplished by clicking on the “Submit Classified” link at the right of this
page. This link will
allow you to complete the form as well as allow Human Resources to
capture necessary information in order to complete the University’s
overall request.
You will also be required to establish a priority on
your requests.
When completing the narrative portions of the requests,
please follow the guidelines listed below. Unless the action is to
delete a position, justifications must be submitted.
Provisional
to Regular
If the position
is going to be a conversion of a provisional position to regular, please make sure
you mark it as provisional to regular when completing the electronic submittal. Normally, institutions
will make this request only when it is planned that the position will be
funded from general revenue. Otherwise, the institution’s board should
re-authorize the position effective July 1, of the new biennium.
