Description: The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Arkansas is currently seeking a postdoctoral research associate to fill a position in the area of chemical separations technology involving critical fluids as applied to natural products processing. The research area will involve the utilization of high pressure fluids, such as supercritical CO2 and/or compressed water, ethanol, etc. above their boiling point for the extraction fractionation and reaction of natural products and biomass. The researcher will be expected to:

- Develop separation and processing methods using compressed fluids at elevated pressures and temperatures.
- Design and assemble equipment for operation above and below the critical point of carbon dioxide, water, etc.
- Correlate and model experimental results from extraction and/or reaction experiments.
- Perform requisite analysis of extracts/fraction/reactants from critical fluid processing.

Superior communication skills are required to present results in peer-reviewed journals and professional meetings. Applicants should have a doctoral degree in an engineering or science field. Qualified applicants will be selected on the basis of their academic and research record and ability to work with an intra-disciplinary team.
