When is this year's Employee Service Award banquet?
The banquet will be Tuesday, October 7, 2008, in the Arkansas Union
including a social hour from 5:00 - 6:00 pm in the Multicultural Center
located in suite 404. The social hour gives you and other invited recipients
and guests an opportunity to visit with your campus community before the
banquet. The dinner and program is scheduled from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the
Alltel Ballroom. Free parking is available in the parking garage after 5:00
p.m.
Who will be invited to the banquet?
This annual celebration recognizes Service Award recipients with 10 or
more years of service as well as the Employees of the Quarter, Employees of
the Year and full-time staff who have recently completed a degree at the
University of Arkansas.
What can I expect if I am on the list to be recognized at this year's
service award banquet?
Each recipient will receive a memo via campus mail or e-mail. At this
time you will be able to select your service award gift and verify the
spelling of your name as it will appear on your certificate of appreciation.
Please return the memo to Human Resources by the stated deadline. Formal
invitations from Chancellor Gearhart will arrive in campus mail early
September. You will be asked to RSVP for you and a guest by a specific
deadline date. If Human Resources does not receive your RSVP card, you may
be contacted by telephone to insure that you have received your invitation
to the banquet.
Banquet seating is unassigned and your are welcome to sit with your
friends and colleagues. Following dinner there will be one to two brief
speeches followed by a short presentation. During the award ceremony
individual names are announced and the recipient walks to the presentation
area to receive their award from Chancellor Gearhart. The award ceremony moves
fairly quick and the banquet usually adjourns by 8:00 pm
When do I select my service award gift?
Human Resource will contact eligible employees during the month of August
to ask for their choice of gift and to verify the spelling of their name for
the certificate of appreciation. Employees with UA email accounts will be
contacted via email.
