With a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Candace is looking for a job that utilizes her broad technical skill set. She has spent the past six years at the University of Florida learning how to conceive, carry out, and trouble-shoot a variety of synthetic research projects. During this process, she learned to analyze chemical properties through an array of techniques such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR), UV-vis Spectroscopy, Gas Chromatography (GC), and Cyclic Voltammetry (CV). In addition to her research experience, Candace has taught upper and lower level undergraduate chemistry courses; gaining first-hand experience in lecturing, writing tests and homework sets, teaching laboratory techniques, and handling the student’s questions and concerns. Outside of the classroom, Candace has accumulated years of community service while organizing science experiments for local youth education outreach programs. She will relocate to Northwest Arkansas in August of 2009 and would feel comfortable pursuing a career as an industrial chemist or as a chemistry educator.
