As part of your employee compensation package, the University of Arkansas offers a very generous retirement program through a defined contribution plan pursuant to section 403(b) of the Internal Revenue Service.

The UA Retirement Plan requires no employee contribution. The University will contribute 5% of regular salary whether or not you elect to make contributions. If you do elect to contribute to the Plan, the University will make additional contributions over 5% and up to 10% of regular salary.

Whether or not you contribute, YOU direct how the contributions are invested with either TIAA-CREF and/or Fidelity Investments. Your investment choices are called allocations. You may choose to invest with one or both companies.

The topics addressed may be tailored to your needs but generally address how much to save for retirement, allocation choices, performance reviews, and distribution options.
